Snug as a bug in your protective shell with “Knox” technology
As the nights draw in and our minds turn to clipping, rugging up well and winter feeding, without exception our stabled friends simply relish a whirl through the open countryside over stubble fields, ditches & hedges – is it just me or does my normally civil gent of an Irish Draft morph into a charging war horse with flared nostril and arching neck, making exaggerated snorting noises? I have not enjoyed those rare moments when the thought of bailing out the side door seems to make some sense as we pound up hill and down dale with ever increasing speed and chaos; however the certain knowledge of instant pain keeps me looking for the brakes as the preferred option!
Maybe it’s the self preservationist in me that focused my mind to develop a body protector that incorporated the best protection possible, one that utilised the most innovative of the “smart foam” technologies around. A thought that has crossed many people’s minds is why not look to motorcycle sports for their brilliant inventions and it is fantastic news that British Eventing has now taken steps to explore that same quest. Clearly it would be unwise to lift a product from one sport and simply apply it to another, as the circumstances of wearing and falling are different in various sports and the requirements of the safety standards in each are so exact.
That is why it took us nearly four years to develop a suitable foam to protect horse riders from impact. I worked with the leading brand “Knox” to adapt their own motorcycle protection technology and apply it as the safety component in the KAN body protector for equestrian sports, whether competition or leisure riding. So when riding out and layering up to keep the winter elements at bay, don’t underestimate the comfort, protection and insulation that your KAN body protector can provide - be that bug in a rug and be the best you can be.
