You are invited to an evening with three day event rider and Olympic medalist Jeanette Brakewell on Monday 16 March 2015. This evening has been organised by the British Horse Society, Ireland and supported by KAN Body Protectors and McCanns General Stores, Killinchy.

A member of the multi-medal winning Senior British Event Team for six years Jeanette competed as pathfinder with the legendary Over To You, her incredible equine partner who is the most medaled horse in British Eventing history.

Jeanette and “Jack” finished in the top ten at Badminton five times, including a third place in 2003 when they were the only combination to complete on their dressage score. She has two Armada dishes, awarded for five completions at Badminton. Jeanette also has four top ten placings and numerous completions at Burghley riding different horses.

Jeanette is a British Eventing Accredited Trainer and has the UKCC Level 3 Coaching Qualification.
Don’t miss this interesting and interactive evening with a social twist.

Susan Irwin, BHS Director for Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland said,

“The British Horse Society is a charity which promotes welfare through education and how to improve horse’s lives and it is fantastic that Jeanette will be sharing some of her knowledge and expertise with us. It will be a great opportunity to get an insight into what goes into riding at an Olympic level and how to ensure that a horse is trained, competed and looked after to make a long term career possible.”

“The evening will be very informal and there will be plenty of opportunity for conversation with Jeanette and to ask her questions”.

KAN Teq designer Wendy Smyth added,

“KAN body protectors have had a long association with Jeanette and I am delighted to welcome her back to Northern Ireland. Jeanette has helped Kan Teq to promote a vital safety message at a number of training days in the past.

“Her experience as one the greatest cross country riders in the world, combined with skill and assessment of rider and horse, makes a lesson with Jeanette immensely inspiring and gratifying. We always have tremendous feedback from participants”.

The event will take place in Mufflers Coffee Shop, behind McCanns General Stores, 3 Comber Road, Killinchy, Co Down, BT23 6PA.

Arrival from 6 to 6.30pm. A supper will be served from 6pm before the evening begins. The cost is just £20 per person, including supper.
